| 3/4 cup / 170 g unsalted butter, softened to room temperature | Cream butter & sugars until creamy, 2 min | Beat in egg & vanilla | Beat dry into wet on low speed | Beat in chocolate chips | Chill dough 1–4 hours, covered | Rest dough 10 min at room temperature | Shape & place 3 inches apart on sheets | Bake 350°F / 177°C, 11–12 min | Cool 5 min on sheet, press if puffy | Transfer to rack, cool completely |
