Simple White Cake

Makes one 9-inch square cake, 12 servings

prepPreheat oven to 350°F / 175°C
prepGrease and flour a 9-inch square cake pan
1 cup / 200 g white sugar	Cream sugar & butter until fluffy, 3–4 min	Beat in eggs one at a time, 30 sec total	Mix in vanilla, 15 sec	Alternate dry & milk into wet, 2 min	Spread into prepared pan	Bake 350°F / 175°C, 30 min	Cool in pan 10 min, invert & cool completely
1/2 cup / 115 g unsalted butter, softened
2 large eggs, room temperature
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 1/2 cups / 190 g all-purpose flour	Whisk flour, baking powder & salt
1 3/4 teaspoons baking powder
1/4 teaspoon table salt
1/2 cup / 120 ml whole milk, room temperature
